Cookie season is kind of a big deal around here. Not just because of the Thin Mints, but because it gives us a chance to team up with some pretty amazing local Girl Scouts and give back in a meaningful way.
For the third year in a row, we partnered with local Girl Scout troops to stock up on cookies and support the girls behind them.
Each year, we invite local troops to sign up, and from there, things fill up quickly.
We purchase a full case of cookies from each troop, which adds up fast. Boxes start stacking up, and before long, the office is filled with every kind of cookie you can think of.
One of our favorite parts is when the troops come by to drop them off. Vests, patches, big smiles, and all. It is always fun getting to meet them and see the pride they have in what they are doing.
It is also a chance for them to build confidence, practice their sales skills, and take pride in what they have accomplished.
Once all the cookies are in, we start putting everything together.
Boxes get sorted, baskets get packed, and before long, those cookies are heading back out into the community. We deliver them to local police stations, fire departments, EMS teams, hospitals, and other community workers who do so much for everyone around them.
It is a simple gesture, but it means a lot to us to be able to say thank you in a way that feels thoughtful and genuine.
We would love to say we do not keep a single box for ourselves, but we are only human. A few favorites might stick around for the team.
The majority, though, go right back out into the community where they belong.
We also love spending more time with our local troops throughout the year.
Each year, we host a Dental Education Day at the office where Girl Scouts can learn about oral health, try out hands-on activities, and just have fun in the space. It is one of those days that ends up being just as much fun for us as for them.
At the end of the visit, they earn a dental hygiene badge to add to their collection, making the whole experience feel even more special.
This is one of those traditions we look forward to every year.
It brings together so many of the things we care about. Supporting local kids, giving back to our community, and creating moments that make people smile.
To our Girl Scouts, our local heroes, and all the families who help make this happen, thank you. We love being part of a community that shows up for each other in ways like this.
